Lake Norman Regional Medical Center has updated its visitor guidelines to include restrictions due to the rise in flu and other respiratory illnesses in Iredell County and the greater Lake Norman area.
These safety precautions for the hospital include a recommendation of masking protection by all patients, visitors, and staff, and limiting visitors to two people per patient. Visitors younger than 12 are not permitted to visit inpatient units, unless a special circumstance is approved by the patient's care team.
Exceptions may be made for siblings visiting in The Stork's Landing Maternity Center and for patients who are in end-of-life care. Anyone with symptoms of a fever, cough or sore throat are asked to refrain from visiting patients until symptoms disappear.
