The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said investigators have uncovered a plot where detention center officers, inmates and a woman posing as a food delivery worker were able to get contraband inside a jail. The investigation wrapped up on Wednesday. Investigators said they discovered between Nov. 1 and Nov. 4 an inmate was able to persuade two detention officers to help him get contraband into the detention center. They said the contraband included cigarettes, vapes and marijuana.Investigators said the plot involved Vanessa Renee Addy who posed as a food delivery person and brought in bags of food with contraband hidden inside and gave it to the detention officers.Investigators said those detention officers would then get the contraband to the inmate who would then deliver it to the housing units.
