QUAD-CITY COLLEGE BASKETBALL THIS WEEK

This week's Q-C college hoops

Seconds? Welcome to Thanksgiving week 2024 when most teams will be enjoying only second helpings at Thursday's feasts rather than on the Quad-City college basketball courts. Only the Augustana College men and women will lace up the sneakers twice this week as the St. Ambrose men and women (who played Monday evening) and Black Hawk College men (also played Monday) and women play just once before enjoying a Thanksgiving week break.

The biggest game this week is on Tuesday when coach Jordan Delp's 4-0 Augustana men trek north to face No. 2 nationally ranked UW-Platteville (4-0) as the Vikings close out a three-game road swing. When the Vikings return home for Saturday's non-conference clash against Hamline at 3 p.m., they will be celebrating what has been designated as the Parents Night game.

This week's men's games - Tuesday: Augustana at UW-Platteville, 7 p.m.; Missouri Baptist at St. Ambrose, 3 p.m. Saturday: Hamline at Augustana, 3 p.m.

This week's women's games - Tuesday: Monmouth at Augustana, 7 p.m.; Black Hawk at Des Moines Area CC, 5:30 p.m. Saturday: Webster at Augustana, 1 p.m.

Representing: A pair of QC preps are on the UW-Platteville men's basketball roster - United Township graduate Bristol Lewis and Bettendorf freshman Asher Wade. Lewis, a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard, has played the fifth-most minutes of any Pioneer (23.3 per game) despite no starts in four games. He is averaging 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, but is shooting just 1 of 9 on 3-pointers. Wade, a 6-foot-6 freshman forward, has seen three minutes of action in one game without yet recording any stats.
