Safety Log: Warrant search in Columbia County yields marijuana plants, snakes

A warrant arrest in Columbia County yielding more than just drugs highlights today's Safety Log.

8:54 a.m. - Warrant search, U.S. 12, Columbia County. WWPD officers who are part of the multi-agency Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force assisted the Columbia County Sheriff's Office with a warrant search of a residence, resulting in several marijuana plants as well as illegal snakes and reptiles.

4:51 a.m. - Protection order violation, 700 block Woodlawn Street.

5:27 p.m. - Theft, 1000 block Vining Street. A delivery of energy drinks was stolen from a front porch.

5:03 p.m. - Criminal mischief, 1000 block Northeast Third Avenue. A screen covering a window was damaged.

Sept. 8

6:35 a.m. - Theft, 400 block South Main Street. An employee of a business said a man with a "cowboy appearance" stole a can of beer. When the employee confronted the man, the man became verbally confrontational and left.

2:53 a.m. - Graffiti, 00 block Northwest Fourth Avenue.
