Ticker: News Networks Prepare for Hurricane Francine

Top of the Ticker: Hurricane Francine is set to make landfall in Louisiana today as a possible Category 2 storm. Coastal communities have been evacuating in anticipation of its arrival and floodgates within the region have been closed. Most of the major news networks have already sent crews down to Louisiana to cover the impact of the Hurricane's landfall and its aftereffects. NBC News has Tom Llamas and Jesse Kirsch in New Orleans, as well as Kathy Park in Baton Rouge and Steven Romo in Gulfport. Meanwhile, NewsNation's national correspondents Ali Bradley and Nancy Loo will report live from New Orleans and Morgan City, respectively.

Advertising Add: Jason Hermes has been named vice president of advertising sales and partnership at Fox Weather. Hermes was most recently the vice president of content marketing sales at The Weather Channel. He started with the network on Monday and will report to Dan Realson, senior vice president of Fox News Digital Sales.

Wedding Bells: CNN correspondent Omar Jimenex recently tied the knot to Maya Voelk in a beautiful garden wedding at the Seattle Tennis Club. The regular fill-in anchor shared moments from that momentous day with People magazine, explaining why the happy couple chose Seattle as the wedding location and the reason for getting hitched over the Fourth of July weekend. "Our friends and family are from all over the country and world, so we wanted a venue that was in the city and to give people a long weekend to build in the relaxation time they deserve -- so the Fourth of July weekend felt like the perfect fit," Jimenex said.

This is CNN: Besides Darth Vader, the late James Earl Jones' booming voice also became synonymous with CNN courtesy of his various "This is CNN" idents that were heard over the years. Following the actor's passing earlier this week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution talked to former CNN marketing and creative executive Rick Salcedo, who came up with the idea for that campaign. "Jones couldn't have been nicer and more professional," Salcedo said. "As many times as I may have asked him to do a line, he would be more than happy to do one more."
