Lidl US, LLC, affiliated to German retailer Schwarz Group, has recalled Taste of Deutschland's Buttered Vegetables, due to undeclared milk allergen.
The US Food and Drug Administration or FDA, during an inspection, found that the product's labels did not mention milk as an ingredient.
The company has recalled all lots of 10.5 oz boxes with UPC 4 056489 122876, which were distributed between 10/21/2023 and 12/19/2024.
The product description includes Frozen Buttered Vegetables, Carrots, Peas, Cauliflower, & Corn.
The impacted items were distributed to all Lidl US store locations in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
People with milk allergies could have serious or even life-threatening reactions if they consume these products.
However, the company has not received any reports or complaints of any illness so far.
The FDA has stated that customers who bought the product are advised not to consume it and to return it to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund.
In recent recalls, Food and beverage giant PepsiCo's Frito-Lay in mid-December recalled a limited number of 13 oz. 368.5 grams flexible bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips due to undeclared milk.
In December, California-based Cal Yee Farm LLC recalled select chocolate and yoghurt-covered products, Tropical Trail Mix, and Butter Toffee, due to undeclared milk along with other potential allergens.
