'New York hates me.' Patriots legend says Knicks owner took away courtside seats

"It's a (expletive) evil empire," Edelman said on his podcast, "Games With Names."

During the most recent episode of his podcast, the former New England Patriots receiver said that he still gets backlash whenever he tries to go to a New York sporting event.

Edelman said he recently "got a deal taken off the table." Edelman was said he was supposed to go to a Jets game with "some company." However, the team didn't want him there.

Apparently, it wasn't the only time a New York team has pulled the plug on him appearing at a game.

"New York hates me," Edelman said. "I tried to go to a Knicks game once and I got some floor seats. What's his name? (Team owner) James Dolan heard and took them away because the Celtics were coming to town."

Edelman has plenty of experience going up against teams from New York City (or, to be more accurate, East Rutherford, New Jersey). During his 12 years in New England, Edelman's Patriots went 14-3 against the Jets during the regular season. So it's little surprise they didn't want him there.
