Barcelona are being linked with a move for Santos gem João Victor de Souza who has already been dubbed the 'new Marcelo' after impressing in Brazil.

The 18-year-old, who is known simply as Souza, has also attracted interest from Premier League side Chelsea, according to Diario AS.

Souza's contract expires in 2025 but Santos have already started negotiations to extend his current deal and potentially receive a larger transfer fee in future.

The youngster has been at Santos since he was nine and has established himself as a left-back of great promise.

Left-back is a position where Barcelona are a little short right now. Alejandro Balde is first choice but Barca lack back-ups.

Gerard Martin has deputised for Balde this season, while Alex Valle is out on loan but could potentially return next summer from Celtic.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Bayern's Alphonso Davies, with the defender expected to leave in the summer but also wanted by other top clubs.
