Mushroom Madness: CBD Life Sciences launches Reishi, Lion’s Mane and ashwagandha root powder

18 Sep 2024 --- US-based CBD Life Sciences is introducing a new Mushroom Madness nutritional supplement infused with extracts from Reishi mushroom, Lion's mane and ashwagandha root for stress reduction and brain and immune system support. The company is hopeful that the new product will increase its revenue by 20% in its first year.

"We are incredibly excited to bring this innovative product to the market. With the growing demand for natural, scientifically backed health solutions, we believe this supplement will be a game-changer, not only for our company but for the health-conscious consumers we serve," says Lisa Nelson, president and CEO of CBD Life Sciences.

CBD Life Sciences touts its new blend of Reishi, Lion's Mane and ashwagandha as providing cognitive support and anti-inflammatory benefits.

The company, which specializes in CBD products, points out that recent scientific research shows that Reishi mushroom extract may boost the immune system, as well as slow or stop tumor growth. It notes that products with this extract are expected to gain traction on the wellness market.

In the UK, where interest in mushrooms for health is booming, brands are allowed to make health claims about Reishi, although a UK consumer watchdog cautions there is not sufficient science to support mushrooms' health benefits. The ingredient is currently under review.

The effects of Reishi, in combination with Lion's Mane mushroom, are currently being studied in a trial that looks at stress, fatigue, anxiety and self-esteem.

CBD Life Sciences says it chose to include Lion's Mane in the mix because of its properties known to support brain health, cognitive function and nerve regeneration.

For this reason, the product has been suggested as a viable alternative to coffee. Additionally, this mushroom has traditionally been used as an antioxidant that supports inflammation responses.

Awaghanda has also been linked to stress and inflammation reduction. While this ingredient has faced scrutiny in some EU countries over concerns regarding its safety, experts in the botanical space have said that this response is unjustified.
