A Beaverton man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly striking his grandfather in the head with a baseball bat, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to a disturbance with a weapon call at 10:31 a.m. near the 17000 block of Northwest Joscelyn Street. The caller, 26-year-old Peter Stine, told dispatchers he had hit his grandfather, deputies said.
When deputies arrived, they found Stine's grandfather with severe head trauma, they said. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and is expected to survive, the sheriff's office said.
Stine was booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with additional information about the case to contact them at 503-846-2500 and reference case number 50-24-17188.
