Over the course of the past few weeks, anybody who wasn't familiar with FS1's Joy Taylor... they got familiar pretty quick.
A bombshell report revealed that a lawsuit was filed against Fox Sports, various other networks in the Fox family, network executive Charlie Dixon, and sports commentator Skip Bayless, and host Joy Taylor for various counts of sexual harassment. Noushin Faraji, a former hairstylist at the network, alleged that she was sexually harassed by Dixon and Bayless, and that Taylor, a former friend, slept with Dixon to get a job on Undisputed.
She also added that Taylor allegedly had sexual relations with commentator Emmanuel Acho to get promoted as well. When Faraji cautioned Taylor against these sexual relationships, Taylor allegedly told her that she planned to claim Dixon "forced himself on her" if things went south.
Of course, the "slept her way to the top" narrative is one that is often unfairly placed on women in a number of different industries, but it's especially prominent in the sports industry. It's gross and unfair for the countless women who have busted their asses to be successful in the sports world, but that doesn't stop scumbag comments from appearing all over social media.
However, when these shocking allegations are levied against someone in a prominent role like Joy Taylor, all it does is throw fuel on an already obnoxious and disgusting fire. It sets ALL women back who want to pursue a career in sports. And then, let's think about the phony sexual assault allegations that she was going to allegedly throw at Charlie Dixon once this inevitably blew up in her face? What do you think that does for women who ARE actually sexually assaulted in the workplace going forward? It discredits them. And then you have the audacity to sit there and say you had it so hard? That you had to do twice the work? C'mon...
We'll see how it all plays out as this lawsuit carries on, and hopefully the truth will prevail, but in the event that these allegations are true... yikes.
In the mean time, Joy is currently hosting Speak on FS1 alongside former NFL WR Keyshawn Johnson and Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce. And this morning, she, perhaps unsurprisingly, took the opportunity take a shot at Donald Trump with a nonsense comment about freedom:
"You can talk nonsense if you want to, it' a free country, for a couple more days."
Paul Pierce didn't even flinch and Keyshawn looked utterly confused at such ridiculous fear-mongering. You wanna talk about freedom, Joy? HA!
Needless to say, a number of people blasted her in the comments:
