Baker Mayfield had the best season of his career in just his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he will be looking to build on it this season.
In a recent article by John Kosko of PFF, he lists one question for each NFL team now that Week 1 of the regular season has come. For the reigning NFC South champions =, he asks if Mayfield can perform now that former OC Dave Canales is gone.
"Baker Mayfield looked as though he was on his last lifeline in the NFL... The Buccaneers then took a one-year flier on him... and he looked rejuvenated," Kosko writes. "Was Mayfield's success in 2023 due to the team around him, with Dave Canales putting Mayfield in positions to succeed, or is he ready to take his game to the next level?"

Canales was one of the biggest reasons why the Buccaneers were able to make the playoffs, but Baker and the rest of the team will face a big challenge now that he is not with the team anymore.
The 29-year-old field general had his first season with over 4000 passing yards in 2023, as having Chris Godwin and Mike Evans is a luxury. Mayfield now has a year under his belt with his weapons, and he will be looking to use that to prove all of his haters wrong.
