NEW BLOOMFIELD -- The Calvary Lutheran Lions led for much of the first half Monday night, but the New Bloomfield Wildcats rallied for a 55-43 victory in their season opener.
Calvary Lutheran was ahead 12-7 after one quarter and 24-20 at halftime.
New Bloomfield won the scoring battle 19-11 in the third quarter for a 39-35 lead, then outscored the Lions 16-8 in the final eight minutes.
Eddy Brooks had a team-high 16 points for the Lions, adding nine rebounds, and Will Kuhlmann finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Ben Kuhlmann also grabbed nine rebounds.
Calvary Lutheran (0-2) hosts Smithton next Tuesday for its home opener.
New Bloomfield (1-0) plays tonight at Vienna.
