Coming back to The Buckingham Murders, the investigative drama opened to mixed reviews on day 1. It revolves around Sergeant Jasmeet 'Jass' Bhamra played by Kareena Kapoor dealing with the loss of her young son. Amid the same she is assigned a case of a missing boy, Ishpreet possibly killed due to the communal unrest in the small town.

The film's review by Mashable India's in-house critic Sanyukta Thakare said the film, "attempts to spin a thrilling tale with communal violence, religious issues and social commentary. However, in an attempt to add all of it, the characters and their stories feel rushed. The actors do justice to their characters but it's the execution of a good plot and pacing that sets it off. The Buckingham Murders would have been a bigger and better drama show with enough run time to explore different layers of the story."
