A Scotts Valley mother charged with her toddler daughter's murder after she allegedly died of a drug overdose- possibly fentanyl is facing more charges. During a court hearing in Santa Cruz on Tuesday, Korisa Lynn Woll was charged with possession of fentanyl for sale and possession of methamphetamine for sale, per the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office. Woll pleaded not guilty to her latest two felony charges. She previously pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, two counts of willful cruelty to a child and destroying and concealing evidence. On July 28, 2024, police say Woll was at a homeless shelter on River Street visiting a friend with her young daughter and 4-year-old boy. Soon after, Woll showed up at a local hospital with her lifeless daughter. At the time, the mother was only charged with 2-counts of child abuse and destroying evidence, but at her arraignment Wednesday, Woll learned prosecutors added the murder charge."Ultimately, she was responsible for the care of her child, and she failed to do that by exposing her child to unsafe conditions. Most likely, the child got exposed or somehow came in contact with fentanyl and or cocaine, which led to the child overdosing and dying," said Jon Bush, spokesman for Santa Cruz police said at the time. She remains in custody and will next be in court on March 12, 2025.
