FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A van driver and passenger were severely injured following a crash into a Freightliner tractor-trailer after CHP says they failed to see the truck Friday morning.

CHP says the truck was slowly backing into an orchard during a harvesting operation when the driver of the van crashed into the truck.

The van's driver suffered major injuries, while the rear passenger sustained minor injuries, CHP says.

Footage from the scene of the crash showed the Selma Fire Department responding to the scene, separating the crashed vehicles and treating the victims.

The identities of those involved have not been officially released.
