Ja's 360° layups broke the NBA internet with millions of views

He and the Memphis Grizzlies might have sustained a rough road loss on the road against the Brooklyn Nets, but Ja Morant still stole the spotlight of the entire Monday night by pulling off a pair of ridiculous highlight-reel finishes.

The Memphis superstar caught the attention of everyone in the basketball world as he delivered two separate 360° layup finishes against Brooklyn. With his impeccable athleticism and crafty ability on full display, even Brooklyn fans within the Barclays Center were left in awe of Morant's dazzling plays.

Ja's 360° layups went viral with millions of views

Morant's jaw-dropping takeoffs against the Nets were so ridiculous that they broke the NBA internet and accumulated off-the-charts viewership.

The league's PR page on X announced that Morant's two 360° layups have already generated 161 million views and counting across its various social media platforms.

The first move came right in the second quarter. Ja bullishly drove hard to the basket and was met by Nic Claxton at the summit. Just as the Nets center might have thought he took a perfect contest by raising his two hands, Morant adjusted mid-air in slow motion and spun away to sink a left-handed layup.

Three minutes after the halftime break, Morant had another hang-time moment. It initially looked like he'd drop a one-handed throwdown, but the Grizzlies sensation executed a 360° layup over Cam Johnson.

As he is finally rejuvenated following a rough 2023-24 campaign, it's good to see that Morant is now back to his usual self as one of the most spectacular players in basketball. We can only hope that his momentum and availability will continue to trend upward so that he'll treat us to more unbelievable plays as the season progresses.

Ja appeared in seven games thus far this season, averaging 20.7 points and 5.1 boards, along with a career-best 9.1 assists, to lead the Grizzlies to a 4-4 start.
