SALINE COUNTY, IL (WSIL) -- Halloween is over but that doesn't mean spooky season has to go with it.
The Saline County Historical Society is holding haunted tours of some infamous sights. Each history walk will be approximately 30-45 minutes long and features stories surrounding the Saline Creek Pioneer Village and Museum:
Aydelott CabinBlock HouseSchool Houseand Charlie Birger's jail cell
Organizers say the history walks will be led and narrated primarily in the dark and lit with dim candlelight style lighting. This tour is best enjoyed by history lovers of all ages and those who enjoy a good spooky story.
Children are welcome on the haunted history tour, but it's recommend they be old enough to enjoy story telling.
Proceeds from ticket purchases, concession purchases, and tips/donations, will help preserve and improve the structures at the Saline Creek Pioneer Village and Museum.
Tickets are $10 per person, but organizers encourage people to purchase them before they sell out. You can find tickets here.
The event is Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Tours will run every 15 minutes.
