3 Conneaut firefighters injured battling blaze, city manager says

CONNEAUT, Ohio (WOIO) -Three Conneaut firefighters are home recovering Saturday morning after responding to a house fire that left them injured.

According to Conneaut City Manager Nick Stanford, Conneaut Fire responded to a fire around 11 p.m. Friday on Monroe Street west of Mill Street.

According to a post on Facebook by the Conneaut Fire Fighters Local 651, firefighters had to "declare a mayday on an emergency scene."

According to Stanford, one firefighter was evaluated and released while two were treated and released with minor injuries.

The post also said the 3 firefighters injured are home and recovering.

No residents of the home were injured, Sanford said.

According to Stanford, multiple surrounding agencies responded to provide aid.

The Ohio State Fire Marshals are investigating this incident, according to Stanford.
