FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Two suspected DUI drivers collided at an intersection near Laton, leaving one seriously injured, Fresno area CHP said on Wednesday.

CHP officers say one of the impaired drivers ran a stop sign at the intersection of Cedar St. and Mt. Whitney Ave. before colliding into the other impaired driver.

Thanks to seat belts, officers say both drivers survived the crash; however, the driver who ran the stop sign was transported to the hospital for serious injuries.

The condition of the seriously injured driver is unknown at this time, but updates will be provided as they become available.
