The 20-person team that was formerly a part of Cresa Minneapolis will be transitioning to working under the Savills Minneapolis name, according to a press release.
Savills, an international brokerage company, has integrated the entire staff of Cresa Minneapolis into its own Minneapolis operation. In an interview with Finance & Commerce, Senior Managing Director Jim Vos said the move will allow the firm to better serve clients because of the research and data Savills has at its disposal. Vos was formerly the principal of Cresa Minneapolis, starting in 1989.
Vos said that this past summer he was able to use some of Savills' data for a client who was looking to serve a specific demographic as their customer base.
"I did my usual research and gave them four or five buildings we could look at and within a couple of days, [Savills] had a profoundly deep dataset around not only the population density within a 20-minute drive time but some very specific demographic characteristics." Vos said, calling it jaw-dropping.
Vos points to the property tax work that the 20-person team had been doing at Cresa, but will now perform as Savills, as a way the international firm will be able to "expand their offerings" because the service is something Savills has never done before.
