Yes, you read that correctly. On their second to last drive of the first half of their 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts, the Green Bay Packers offense found themselves facing a 3rd and 10 at their own 47-yard line. Packers quarterback Malik Willis snapped the ball and immediately scrambled outside to the 50 bringing up fourth and 7. It turns out the play was a designed pass play, but according to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, Willis felt he had no choice but to run it after center Josh Myers vomited on the ball.

"That's the first time I've ever heard that," Matt LaFleur said in his post-game interview. LaFleur added that head official Shawn Hochuli said he would take Myers out of the game next time at the coach's request. "Because, I mean, you're talking about a critical situation," LaFleur said, trying to stifle a laugh. "And it's third down and I've never had vomit on a football." He added that Willis probably didn't appreciate the vomit, although I'm not sure who would in any context.

Myers threw up on the ball just before snapping it (here's a link to the uncensored video if you so wish to see it), and later told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette that it was because he felt like he had something in his throat when he was breathing hard after drinking an electrolyte drink. "I bent over and, I just, I don't know. I threw up," he said.

Unsure if it's related, but it feels worth noting that it was 85 degrees at kick-off which made it the 2nd-warmest home game in Packers history.

The Packers ended up punting after that play but thankfully ended the half without giving up any points. Thankfully, we can all look back and laugh about it now since the Packers got the win, but one can't help but wonder what magic might have happened if Malik Willis had tried passing the pukeball...I guess we'll never know.
