OUT AND ABOUT - The Shriners of Western New York hold the second installment of their Feztival of Trees this weekend at the Shrine Center, 1600 Southwestern Blvd., West Seneca. In addition to the fully decorated trees, there will be vendors, a craft area for kids, raffles, visits with Santa, food and beverages. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission $3.

There's free admission to the Buffalo History Museum during its fourth annual indoor Holiday Makers Market with more than 30 vendors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. A trolley also will shuttle shoppers for free both days to the Buffalo Holiday Market at the Richardson Complex.

IN THE SPIRIT - Holiday festivities will abound on Saturday in Chautauqua County. In Bemus Point, there's Light Up the Point, while Dunkirk celebrates Christmas on Central.

Beginning at noon in Bemus Point, there will be pony and horse-drawn carriage rides, cookie decorating, a chance to be photographed as an elf in Santa's workshop and, at the library, children's Christmas crafts from noon to 3 p.m., followed by story time with Mrs. Santa Claus. A parade on Main Street at 5 p.m. will be followed by carols with Santa and the lighting of the village tree. For more info, visit visitbemuspoint.com.

Festivities start at 11 a.m. on Central Avenue in Dunkirk, with Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph and elves at City Hall from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by a tree lighting and dance party there at 5:30 and a parade at 6:30. The Stearns Building, 338 Central, will host children's activities, holiday ice sculpture carvings and a display of gingerbread houses. For more info, visit cityofdunkirk.com.
