It seems like there's an AI tool for just about everything, and more are coming out every day. Google announced the new Vids web app that aims to take the work out of making video presentations.
Google just came out with a new platform , so you know that there's a strong focus on AI technology with it. The company announced this app back in April, and we're sure that a ton of people were eagerly waiting for it to launch. If you haven't been keeping up, Google Vids is a new app that will use AI to craft video presentations.
The app won't artificially generate the video from scratch. Rather, it's a tool that will create a video storyboard for you using a simple prompt. Along with that, Google will suggest the appropriate stock media to add to the video like royalty-free images and a background soundtrack.
Once your outline is finished, you'll be able to dig into it and make some changes. You'll be able to change out the media that Google suggested. If you want to add your own images, you can simply import images from Google Drive or Google Photos.
Along with suggesting media, Vids will also generate a script for you. While it might be able to make a good script based on the prompt, you're able to upload documents from Google Docs to provide extra context. This is great for people who are working major projects and need to make a presentation with the notes they've taken.
To top things off, if you need a voiceover for the video, you'll be able to either record your voice or have a voiceover generated for you. All of these tools will help you quickly and easily make a video presentation for your team.
Don't worry if you want to make video presentations yourself. Vids is primarily a video creation platform. It's not an AI video generation app. So, if you want to put the work in and create your own presentation from scratch, you'll be able to. The AI tools will just be there when you need them.
The company began rolling out Vids on November 7th, and it will gradually make it to users over the next 15 days. If you're a Workspace user (Business, Enterprise, Essentials, Education Plus), then you'll be able to use this tool. Also, people who use Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium will also have access to Vids.
