Get active this weekend and join local Lowcountry shredders as they compete at the Boardr Series national skateboarding competition and show off all the kickflips, slides and switches up their sleeves.
Show your support for all the skaters who've travelled from near and far to compete, and then head over to the Teal Arts Festival to continue supporting the community at this fundraising fest for those struggling with gynecologic cancer.

Boardr Series
Show your local shredders support as Charleston County Parks hosts The Boardr Series, a national skateboarding competition, starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at SK8 Charleston, 1549 Oceanic St., Charleston. This fun and friendly two-day contest is for all ages and skill levels. The competitions will kick off Friday with bowl and street cash prizes of $250 for tricks while Saturday will hold a day of men's and women's street and bowl competitions for varying age groups. Formerly known as the Grind for Life series, a portion of the entry fees benefit the Grind For Life nonprofit organization. 4th Annual Drifter Fest
The 4th annual Drifter Fest is an event in Charleston that celebrates the life of the late Bert Griggs. Kick off the Drifter Fest with 54 Bicycles at Home Team BBQ, 126 Williman St., Charleston for the pre-jam party from 6-10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13. Keep the good vibes going at the pre-jam after parties from 11 p.m.-1 a.m. at both The Commodore, 504 Meeting St. and The Palace Hotel, 525 Meeting St. The memorial jam will be held 5-11 p.m. at The Refinery, 1640 Meeting St., Charleston. Join for a weekend of events complete with great company, stories, live music, Lowcountry eats, heady drinks and fun vendors. Drayton Hall at Night
Experience historic Drayton Hall after hours and enjoy the spectacular landscape and live music on the lawn. Located at 3380 Ashley River Road, Charleston, this event will start at 5:30 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. The house will be open during this special evening event, and Drayton Hall archaeologists will be on the landscape to tell you about their most recent finds. There will be scavenger hunts, colonial games for all ages and picturesque spots for a picnic. Beer and wine will be available for purchase on-site, and charcuterie boards are available for pre-order. Incredible Con
Don't miss your chance to see Incredible Con at the North Charleston Area Convention Center, 5001 Coliseum Drive from 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Incredible Con is a two-day anime experience with stars from your favorite anime shows and films. On Saturday, there will be panels with comic creator Jim Shooter, a Q&A with creators J. Chris Campbell and Steve Stegelin, author Timothy Zahn, voice actors Josh Martin and Chris Rager, voice actors Wayne Grayson and Erica Schroeder, actor John Wesley Shipp and a cosplay contest. Sunday will feature panels from comic creators Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, voice actor Richard Horvitz, stunt performer Dicky Beer, a Q&A with power ranger actors Brennan Mejia and Claire Blackwelder and more cosplay events. Teal Arts Festival
The Teal Arts Festival will be held at Awendaw Green, 4853 N. Highway 17, Awendaw from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 to bring awareness and support to those struggling with gynecologic cancer. There will be food and craft vendors as well as local artists performing to raise funds to benefit local gynecologic cancer patients via the Lowcountry Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Whether you're an art enthusiast, family member of someone diagnosed with gynecologic cancer or just looking for a good time with a good cause, this festival has something for everyone. Contributions from the event will allow each LOCA patient diagnosed with gynecologic cancer to be gifted a bag of necessities for their chemotherapy treatment, provide a monthly lunch support group for survivors and those undergoing treatment and fund local awareness and research efforts.
