WINTER PARK, Colo. (KDVR) -- Experiencing an adventure in the great Colorado outdoors means that at the end of the day, you gotta hit the sack.
While there are numerous accommodations, such as hotels, bed and breakfasts, and motels to serve your needs, FOX31's Dan Daru found a place off the beaten path that might add that outdoor ambiance you may be looking for. It's called the A-Frame Club, and no, you need not be a member to stay.
Thirty-one a-frame cabins nestled next to the Fraser River in Winter Park were built as cozy little getaways for skiers, travelers and those who just want to stay a little longer in them-thar hills.
Each cabin is 475 square feet and sleeps up to four. The master bedroom is located up a winding spiral staircase and sports a king-size bed and an extra-large bathtub to unwind in.
Whether you spent the day on the mountain skiing, snowshoeing or just reading a good book by the fire, you're gonna get hungry. Executive Chef Yoni Kolel is more than happy to be home on the range. A gas range that is.
Kolel is the top cat at the A-Frame Grill, located just a few feet from the A-Frame Club, whipping up such delights as in-house aged steaks, French onion soup made from scratch and desserts that would satiate the sweetest of teeth.
Oh yeah, don't forget your swimming suit, the outdoor hot tubs are a must.
