TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) -- Police say a driver crashed into a patio where several people were seated outside of a Tempe coffee shop early Friday morning.

The collision happened at Gold Bar Espresso, near Southern Avenue and McClintock Drive, just before 8 a.m. According to Tempe police, three people were sitting at a table outside when a pickup truck driver crashed into the front of the coffee bar.

One of the victims sustained a serious hand injury and was taken to the hospital. The other two weren't hurt.

Investigators don't believe the driver was under the influence, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Residents should avoid the area as clean-up continues.
