With the change to winter time, we begin to face the coldest part of the year, but that should not be an impediment to continue travelling with our camper van. More importantly, if it has all-wheel drive, we will have guaranteed mobility.

It's no mistake that its camper look is obvious and, in addition to the two driven axles, it has considerable ground clearance and specific tyres to ensure that it can leave the road with confidence. The corporate Dacia front end is also a real eye-catcher.

There's no shortage of plastic underbody protection and nice black alloy wheels, which shouldn't be easily damaged, as the tyre profile seems large enough to prevent such damage.

The Sandman 4x4 2024 has two sliding side doors and a conventional tailgate, plus opening windows. The vertical LED lights also add to the modern look of the exterior.

This digital recreation also includes an image of the interior, which features hard-touch materials that will stand up to tough treatment. It's not a digitised cockpit, but rather an 'analogue' one, with the steering wheel tilted (typical of vans) and the gear lever at mid-height. There's also a handy triple glovebox (one of them without a lid) in front of the passenger seat.

In the hypothetical case that it would be on sale (Dacia, what are you waiting for?), we'd buy it with a lift-up roof, to gain two sleeping places, and also with stationary heating. If we could choose an engine, we would go for the Renault 1.5 Blue dCi diesel with 115 PS, which would keep fuel consumption down and give us a long range.

Can you imagine spending the night in remote places, going skiing or taking your bike for a beautiful mountain stage? The truth is that it would be a very popular camper van, especially if Dacia's commercial policy is applied to it: keeping prices as low as possible.
