Big Ten Program Made History In Win Over Michigan

Each and every season, college football offers some incredible storylines. The sport has so much parity given the amount of high-level programs and talent changes on a yearly basis.

Coaching changes can make a big impact, too, and Indiana is feeling that firsthand. Former James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti turned the program around rapidly, as he's coming away with results in his first season with the team.

In all fairness, Hoosiers fans should have expected it. With his arrival, Cignetti was blunt. He wins.

"I win. Google me," Cignetti said earlier this year.He

He did such in Week 11, as the Hoosiers knocked off the reigning champions, the Michigan Wolverines, in a 20-15.

Now, Michigan is only a shell of what they were a season ago after a head coaching change and recycling talent. Still, it's a big win for Cignetti and Indiana.

The Hoosiers are now a perfect 10-0 on the season, positioning themselves well to make the first 12-team College Football Playoffs in the sport's history.

They've got a remaining contest against Ohio State -- and another against Purdue, which they should win. Assuming a loss to the Buckeyes, they should still be able to earn a bid.

Not only could Indiana be in the playoffs, but their 10-0 start is the best in program history.

"Indiana is 10-0 for the first time in program history," the Big Ten shared on social media.

Being 9-0 in a top-two conference in the nation was only good to get Indiana ranked No. 8 in the initial playoff rankings, and it'll be interesting to see what their program's record-breaking season has in store for the next edition of the rankings.

Playing Ohio State will certainly give the Hoosiers a chance to prove their legitimacy after sneaking away with a victory against Michigan.
