Denzel and Pauletta Washington Don Comfy Shoes to Support Sons at 'Piano Lesson' Premiere in Los Angeles

Denzel Washington and wife Pauletta Washington attended Netflix's "The Piano Lesson" Los Angeles premiere held at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood yesterday. The couple proudly graced the premiere in support of their sons Malcolm Washington, the director of the upcoming film, and John David Washington, the film's star.

Both parties kept it comfortable for the star-studded event. Pauletta sported a pair of boots crafted of a gray textural fabric. The footwear pick included rounded toes and leather soles. The shoe was hard to see beneath the baggy hemline of the "Reasonable Doubt" actress' trousers. Pauletta's footwear is comparable to silhouettes from top brands like Gianvito Rossi, JW Anderson, Acne Studios, Sergio Rossi and Saint Laurent, just to name a few.

In a contrasting style, the "Gladiator II" star laced up Under Armour sneakers in gray and black. The athletic shoe style included black lace-up closures, Under Armour branding on the heels and breathable mesh uppers. Thick flexible foam soles in white finished out the set, cushioning Denzel's feet. The thespian's kicks are not unlike Under Armour's UA Velociti 4 running shoe in composition and colorway.

Pauletta took a formal route, clad in a khaki-colored suiting moment equipped with turtle shell buttons and pleated trousers. On the accessories front, the "Beloved" star toted a brown and white mini bag accompanied by silver and gold jewelry. Denzel also suited up in a gray blazer accompanied by a deep blue crew neck and dark wash jeans.

Netflix's "The Piano Lesson" is a 2024 musical drama directed by Malcolm Washington and starring talents like John David Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Erykah Badu, Corey Hawkins and Danielle Deadwyler, among others. The film is based on a play of the same name written by American playwright August Wilson created in 1987. The Netflix movie follows the Charles family as they grapple with family legacy and difficult decisions while determining the fate of their heirloom piano, exploring deeper themes along the way.
