On Wednesdays, we'll introduce the students who make up Year 9 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Today: Tuscola's Olivia Wallace.

When she was 1, Olivia spent four months in an ankles-to-armpit spica cast to correct hip dysplasia -- an uncomfortable stretch for all involved. "My mom said changing my diaper was a real treat," Olivia said.

Today, parents Wendy and Jason have a hard time keeping up with their middle child, who seemingly is always on the go: volleyball, basketball, cheer, track and field (state qualifier), Key Club, Students Against Destructive Decison, National Honor Society, Drama Club, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and more. "Honestly, I don't know any other way, she said. "I've always been busy. Being involved, experiencing new things and positively impacting others are important to me."

Olivia plans to attend Illinois State and major in elementary education. "My mom is a middle school teacher and my dad is an elementary school principal so education has also been important to me," she said.

Among her many senior year highlights: the chance to perform in Tuscola's new auditorium. She took part in last month's "Play On!" and is looking forward to "Mamma Mia!" in the spring.

"It is exhilarating to have a place to show off the talents of our amazing drama department, especially since it's my senior year," she said. "The arts are so important and the stage improvement was much needed."
