Van Buren's girls continued their early-season dominance with to blowout wins this week. A.J. McDonald poured in 17 points and scooped up 15 rebounds Thursday during the team's 56-25 rout of Mount St. Mary.

The Lady Pointers (6-1) routed Rogers earlier in the week, 58-35. McDonald, Lillian Gilbert, and Hope Oden finished with 12, 11 and 10 points in the victory.

In addition to McDonald's big night against Mount St. Mary, Aspen Cone finished with 10 points, five rebounds and six steals.

The Lady Pointers' average margin of victory is 29.5 points. The Lady Pointers have enjoyed good starts for three straight seasons.

They were 7-0 and eventually 12-2 before finishing 18-13 last season, and the year before that Van Buren opened the season 6-2.
