Fire crews extinguished multiple small grass fires Thursday afternoon on the west side of Interstate 25 near Erie, according to a Mountain View Fire Rescue Facebook post.
Reports came in at 12:15 p.m. about a possible grass fire along I-25 just south of Exit 232 and north of Colo. 7.
While the fire was swiftly extinguished, traffic backed up quickly and reached as far north as Colo. 52.
According to Mountain View Fire Rescue spokesman Rick Tillery, there is no word on the cause of the fire.
Responding agencies include Mountain View Fire Rescue and North Metro Fire Rescue.
