Fayetteville enjoyed a first-round bye last week in the Class 7A state playoffs, but the Bulldogs certainly didn't take the week off.

Playing the winner of the opening-round game between Springdale Har-Ber at Pulaski Academy, the Bulldogs knew there was a chance they face the Bruins in the second round.

And with Pulaski Academy comes the obvious preparations on special teams, particularly the onside kicks. But it doesn't stop there.

Pulaski Academy (9-2) became famous over the years for opting to onside kick on nearly every kickoff, along with never punting and going for two-point conversions under longtime Coach Kevin Kelley, who's now at Sheridan.

Current Bruins Coach Anthony Lucas -- who like Fayetteville Coach Casey Dick is a former Arkansas Razorback standout -- has kept that style of play going.
