Medfield native Tyler Murray gets promoted from Triple A Worcester ... to the New York Knicks - The Boston Globe

Murray, a Xaverian High and Boston University graduate, is the new radio voice of the New York Knicks, while also filling in for select MSG Network telecasts.

"I've dreamed of calling Knicks games for as long as I can remember, so my family and I couldn't be more excited," Murray said in a press release. "It's an honor to join MSG Networks, and to represent everyone who has lifted me up along the way."

Murray will call all regular season and playoff games on 880 ESPN New York and will fill in for Mike Breen and Kenny Albert on MSG when they have national assignments.

"We've admired Tyler's versatility, his work ethic, and his passion for New York Knicks basketball," said MSG Networks senior vice president Kevin Marotta in a press release. "He will be a great fit with our current group of distinguished Knicks broadcasters."

Murray, 34, will work alongside primary analyst Monica McNutt, a former Georgetown player.

Born in Riverside, Conn., Murray grew up in Medfield and got his play-by-play start calling Daytona Cubs games in 2012. He returned to New England as the voice of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in 2016. After six seasons in Manchester, he was hired by the WooSox prior to the 2022 season.

Murray has also served as the primary voice for Hockey East on NESN and college basketball for UMass on WEEI Springfield and New Hampshire on ESPN+. He lives in Nashua, N.H., with his wife, Chrissy.
