Texas desperately needed to get back into the win column in Week 9.
After suffering a 30-15 loss to Georgia last week, Texas looked to rebound against No. 25 Vanderbilt on Saturday. Luckily the Longhorns were able to do just that by securing a 27-24 win over the Commodores. However, the outcome came down to the final minute.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers threw two interceptions, although they were each tipped passes, and the Longhorns gave up four sacks. Despite that, Texas was able to move the ball down field when it mattered most and its defense came in clutch by recovering a fumble and hauling in two interceptions.

Ewers concluded the contest with 288 passing yards and three touchdowns. He completed 17 consecutive passes in the first half and looked much improved compared to his last two performances.
Wide receiver DeAndre Moore was Texas' leading receiver with six receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, running back Quintrevion Wisner rushed for 70 yards and also recorded five receptions for 39 yards.
The Longhorns defense, who entered the matchup as the No. 1 defense in the nation, held Vanderbilt dual-threat quarterback Diego Pavia to 143 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Pavia added on 67 rush yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Texas will look to get healthy at several position groups, primarily safety and wide receiver, during their bye this week. The Longhorns will next face Florida at home on Nov. 9.
