Dolly Parton Enlists Her Sister Rachel to Spread Christmas Cheer, Shares Throwback Photo Dressed in Santa Jumpsuit

Dolly Parton loves the Christmas season. A look at her catalog of music, movies, and TV appearances proves how much she enjoys spreading holiday cheer. She has recorded several timeless Christmas songs, starred in several holiday movies, and hosted multiple television specials. This year, Parton took to social media to share good tidings and cheer with her fans and followers.

Dolly and her sister Rachel Parton teamed up earlier this year to release the cookbook Good Lookin' Cookin. On Christmas Eve (December 24), Parton posted a photo of the two of them together in festive outfits in a beautifully decorated room. "As we've spent time together creating this year of meals and recipes to share with you, we've realized they reflect a lifetime of family, friends, and food," Parton wrote in the post. "Rach and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas Eve," she added.

The next day, Parton returned to social media to share another holiday post. It featured a throwback photo of the country icon in a Santa-themed red outfit complete with white fur lining. "Have a Merry Christmas, everyone!" she wrote in the post's caption.

Dolly Parton appeared on The Ellen Show in 2018. She was there to discuss future projects. Additionally, she was hoping to inspire viewers to donate money to help people who were affected by the wildfires that swept through Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge near where Parton grew up.

While on the show, she talked about her love of Christmas and how she decorates for the holiday every year. "Oh yeah. I have a lot of rooms in my house and I've got a Christmas tree in every room. They're all different sizes," Parton revealed. However, she doesn't just have multiple rooms to decorate. She has multiple houses. "I have a lake house. We decorate it kind of with the theme of that with the water," she added.

Parton doesn't go all out for the holiday for herself, though. "Christmas is for the kids," she stated. While she doesn't have children of her own, Parton has plenty of nieces and nephews to spoil on Christmas.
