Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma in their SEC matchup on Saturday, but the game stopped in the fourth quarter due to a scary situation on the sideline.
A doctor on Ole Miss' staff collapsed, and emergency personnel rushed across the field to help. The doctor was helped to his feet, and was taken to an ambulance for further treatment.
According to the Daily Mail, the doctor who collapsed was Dr. Kurre Luber. Luber is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Ole Miss, and performs arthroscopic surgeries on athletes at the school.
"That was scary," said Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin after the game, per Sam Hutchens of the Mississippi Clarion-Ledger.
"I didn't see right when it happened with Dr. Luber. He's been awesome around here. He's been awesome to my family. Great man. That was a really scary moment when he wasn't moving."
Players rallied around Luber in support and prayer, before he eventually was able to walk off the field and into a nearby ambulance.
"When we got everyone together and prayed, I said, 'That was a pretty powerful prayer' because right as we got done praying he stood up,'" Kiffin added.
"It was pretty neat that he was back. We saw him after. A lot better than what we were initially worried about."
The Rebels were able to collect themselves and finish the game, improving to 6-2 on the season with a 26-14 win over Oklahoma. Ole Miss trailed at halftime, but scored 16 unanswered points in the second half to win the game.
After splitting their last four games with two wins and two losses, Ole Miss will look to begin another winning streak next Saturday when they take on Arkansas on the road.
Their opponents, Oklahoma, have fallen to 4-4 on the season with the loss. They'll host an FCS opponent in Maine next week.
