LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - La Crosse Police and the other officers that assisted during Oktoberfest this year kept busy.
On Friday, the department released details of law enforcement's efforts for the recently completed festival.
As in the past, officers and deputies from outside agencies assisted police during Oktoberfest. The extra help included members of the La Crosse County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Police said that they responded to 1,042 calls between 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at midnight.
There were 41 people arrested during that time.
For comparison, that's just about double from the 21 they reported last year. They reported 34 in in 2022 and 26 in 2021.
Here's a look at some of the other numbers from 2024:
-Out with Party - 168
-Trouble with Party/Trouble with Juvenile - 121/15
-Fights - 12
-Accidents/Hit and Runs - 19/5
They also wrote 218 citations.
Of those, 141 were alcohol related. They included 111 underage alcohol violations, 7 false ID's, and 2 underage in a bar.
In addition, there were 19 citations given for disorderly conduct, resisting or obstructing an officer.
Twenty-eight citations were issued for depositing refuse material.
Police also said that state patrol troopers made 152 traffic stops on Friday and Saturday.
