After Nov. 1, applications can be filed at mybenefits.ny.gov, by mail or in person at the Niagara County Department of Social Services offices at 301 Tenth St., Niagara Falls, or 20 East Ave., Lockport. HEAP assistance for repairing or replacing furnaces also is available beginning Nov. 1.
Anyone with questions about applying for HEAP may call the Department of Social Services at 716-278-8400 or visit the DSS website through a link at niagaracounty.gov.
Applications already have been sent out to people who received HEAP last year and qualify for Early Outreach. Seniors can get help with Early Outreach applications at the Niagara County Office for the Aging at 111 Main St., Lockport, or by calling 716-438-4020.
