Tomorrow is the big day! Christmas is almost here, but after that you might find yourself wondering just what to do with that Christmas tree?
Well, if you are in Bossier Parish and that tree happens to be a real one, not artificial, you can help to Keep Bossier Beautiful and recycle that tree so that it can be turned into fish habitat in one of our many area lakes.
Pretty fascinating to think that same tree that lit up your living room for the last month could go on giving and provide an opportunity for fish in our local lakes to continue using it as somewhat of a home for months to come.
Beginning this Thursday, December 26 and continuing through Thursday, January 9, 2025, Keep Bossier Beautiful will be recycling live-cut trees to build fish habitats in local lakes.
If you'd like to take part and have your tree recycled, simply remove all the lights, tinsel and any decorations from it and take it to one of four convenient drop-off locations throughout Bossier Parish.
All drop off locations will be identified by a Tree Cycling sign.
Volunteers will then be needed to help sink all these trees into Cypress/Black Bayou. This will be on Saturday, January 18 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Cypress/Black Bayou, 135 Cypress Park Drive in Benton. If you'd like to volunteer, just go HERE to the Keep Bossier Beautiful website.
