Hundreds joined in kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month Oct. 5 at The Park at River Walk with Links for Life's Lace'n It Up.

It included a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile celebration walk. It is part of Links' Paint the Town Pink celebrations.

Links for Life is a local nonprofit for women with breast cancer. Links provides everything from mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies to nutrition education, grocery cards, support groups, free wigs and encouragement.
