The Essex Committee for the Army Benevolent Fund hosted its annual Christmas Concert at St Botolph's Church in Colchester last Wednesday, December 11.

It was an evening filled with festive music and joyous carols.

The concert, a beloved community tradition, was a magical start to the holiday season, bringing together the community in support of the Army family.

Attendees were treated to an exceptional performance by The Band of the Essex Yeomanry, whose musical talents have been honed over 200 years.

Their festive repertoire filled the church with holiday cheer, with many singing along to well-loved carols and enjoying the heart-warming atmosphere.

The event not only celebrated the spirit of Christmas but also raised significant funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, which provides crucial support to soldiers and their families during times of need.

In total, the concert raised around £2,000, thanks to the generosity of attendees who offered their continued support to the cause.

The Committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed, noting that such community involvement ensures the ongoing success of the charity's vital work.
