SPARTANBURG -- After 28 years of selling books at its store off W. O. Ezell Blvd., Barnes & Noble is closing with plans to find a new location.
In a post on Instagram, the bookshop said it was shutting down because its lease had expired. Its last day is Jan. 19.
"Our lease ended and unfortunately our landlord has chosen to lease our space to another company," said Janine Flanigan, the company's vice president of store planning and design. "We are actively looking for a new location in Spartanburg but have not found one just yet."
The store is currently holding a sale ahead of its closing, offering 40 percent off books and 50 percent off toys, with some exceptions.
